1. Define oral ulcer. Classify oral ulcers and describe in detail the acute and chronic types with examples. Key Points to Cover: Definition: A breach in the continuity of the epithelium of the oral mucosa exposing underlying connective tissue. Classification: Based on duration: Acute, Chronic, Recurrent Based on etiology: Traumatic, Infective, Autoimmune, Neoplastic, Drug-induced Acute ulcers: Painful, short duration (e.g., traumatic ulcer, herpetic ulcers) Chronic ulcers: Persistent, often painless (e.g., tuberculous ulcer, syphilitic ulcer, squamous cell carcinoma) Clinical features, diagnosis, and management 2.
